Lucy {5 days new} | Chester County Newborn Photographer, Downingtown Newborn Photographer

I’ve been doing newborn photography for a number of years now and have seen my fair share of babies. So I feel quite confident saying that miss Lucy here wins the prize for chubbiest cheeks. Some other babies may have come close, but I’m pretty sure she’s tipped the scales in that department. I could not get enough of them! I’m blessed to be her Aunt and have opportunity to kiss those chubby cheeks fairly often. I’ve had the awesome privilege of photographing 4 of her siblings. Her brother, Ben, was my very first newborn model (and quite possibly Lucy’s biggest competition in the cheeks department!) And it seems like just yesterday I photographed her sister, Emily. These babies need to stop growing! Why does time have to move so quickly?

When Lucy came for her session she was just 5 days new, meanwhile I was 37.5 weeks pregnant! While technically on my ‘maternity leave’ from photography, I couldn’t not photograph her! But I must say, I completely underestimated the importance of having a lap when doing a newborn session. LOL  Recognizing my very pregnant state, I had offered to take “a few” photos of my niece. But her adorableness (and those cheeks!) sucked me right in and I ended up taking close to 200. I know, I know… Trust me I KNOW it wasn’t the best idea and my body was definitely feeling the repercussions the next morning. But despite the aches and pains, it was totally worth it. I mean seriously, how cute is she? 🙂 Newborn girl in froggy pose with chubby cheeksSeriously…newborn girl with chubby cheeks macro posenewborn girl in the potato sack pose with vintage quiltnewborn girl in bum up poseclose up of newborn girl's facenewborn girl in taco posenewborn girl in potato sack pose on vintage quiltnewborn girl in head on hands pose black and whitenewborn girl wide awake in potato sack posenewborn girl asleep in crateI’m happy to say that the next newborn I photograph will be my own. My little man is expected to arrive in just a couple of weeks now. And while I’m sure it goes without saying, I am extremely excited to get him out of my belly and into my arms!
